Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Kevin Takes Your Job ("the Site"), run by the team behind Kevin Takes Your Job ("we", "us"), collects and why.

What we collect

Your chats with Kevin

• Messages you type are sent to our AI provider (Google, via the Gemini API) to generate Kevin's replies.
• Right now we don't store your chats. When you leave the page, the conversation isn't kept by us.
• Your share card and conversation image are created in your own browser. They only leave your device if you choose to share or save them.
• Please don't type personal information, such as your full name, your employer, contact details, health information, or anything you wouldn't want seen.

Saving and sharing chats IN PROGRESS

We plan to start saving chat logs. When we do, we'll update this policy and show a notice on the Site first. Saved chats will be used to:

• improve Kevin's jokes and spot common questions
• check that Kevin's safety rules are working
• share funny or popular exchanges publicly, for example on our website and social media

Before we share anything, we'll remove all names of private individuals and businesses, plus any details that could identify someone. Kevin himself never writes real names. We will never share conversations where someone appears to be in distress or talks about harming themselves or others. Saved chat logs will be kept for up to 12 months, except for exchanges we've chosen to share, which may stay published.

Usage analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use the Site, for example pages visited, rough location (country or city), device type and how you found us. Analytics cookies are only set if you choose "Accept" on our cookie banner. If you choose "No thanks", Google may still receive basic, cookieless signals (such as that a page was viewed), with no analytics cookies stored on your device.

We also count actions on the Site, such as starting an audit, receiving a card or tapping Share. These events can include the job title shown on your card and your team, but never what you typed.

Hosting logs

Our host (Google Firebase) may automatically log technical data, such as IP addresses, for security and reliability. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may also see your IP address.

Purchases IN PROGRESS

• Merch will be sold and fulfilled by a third-party print-on-demand provider. We won't receive your card details, and their privacy policy will apply.
• Digital items (such as "Your Place in the Queue") will be paid through Stripe. We won't see or store your full card details. We'll receive your email and order details so we can deliver your item.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal data.
• We don't require an account.
• We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Third parties

• Google: Gemini API, Firebase Hosting, Google Analytics, Google Fonts
• A print-on-demand merch provider IN PROGRESS
• Stripe, for digital purchases IN PROGRESS

These services process data under their own privacy policies.

Your choices and rights

• You can accept or decline analytics cookies on our banner, and change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
• Once chat saving starts: if you'd like a chat removed, including one we've shared, email us with roughly when you chatted and what was said, and we'll take it down.
• Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the UK and EU, or the PDPA in Singapore), you may have rights to access or delete your data. Contact us below.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
